Diego Maradona: Manchester United's Carlos Tevez Feels Boss Ferguson Is Not A Fan
The Argentina striker has told his international head coach that he suspects his manager at club level does not like him...
Apparently, the 25-year-old has vented his frustration at his lack of playing time this season, fearing that it may be damaging his reputation.
"I spoke with Tevez on the phone and the first thing he said to me was, 'That old man doesn’t like me. He’s not playing me and he’s lowering my value,'" Maradona is quoted as saying.
However, the 48-year-old World Cup winner has assured ‘El Apache’ that he has no such worries with regard to his international football career.
"When he comes to Argentina, I’m going to reassure him. As I see it, he’s fast, incisive, he scores goals," Maradona remarked.
"He is about to be called up for Argentina and he will be playing."
Tevez's future at club level remains far from certain. His two-year loan spell at Old Trafford is set to expire this summer, but the club are seemingly unwilling to meet his reported valuation of upwards of £26 million.
His agent, Kia Joorabchian, has confirmed that he has held talks with the Red Devils about extending his stay, but insists there has been no firm offer.
"Carlos will make a decision on his future once the Champions League is over," Joorabchian told TalkSPORT.
