Considering all the deadline day pandemonium surrounding the Arab takeover of Manchester City, the subsequent acquisition of Brazilian forward Robinho, and Dimitar Berbatov's acrimonious departure from Tottenham Hotspur, it is easy to forget that there was plenty other transfer activity elsewhere in the Premier League.

Coventry winger Julian Gray, 28, completed a one-year loan deal and couldn't be happier with the opportunity to test himself in England's top flight.

"I know a few of the Fulham lads already," Gray, who was educated at Arsenal, told the club's official website. "I don't know them really well, but the likes of Paul Konchesky I know from being on trial Charlton. I know Bobby Zamora as well... That always makes the transition easier."

"I know AJ [Andrew Johnson] very well. We were at Crystal Palace at the same time and played together in the 2003/04 season when we got promoted to the Premier League. He scored a lot of goals and quite often I was the one giving him the delivery, so I can't wait to rekindle that relationship. Hopefully it will be just as successful."
