Following the arrest of senior club official Debabrata Sarkar, the coach has volunteered to lend a helping hand...
East Bengal coach Armando Colaco, who was the coach cum general secretary at Dempo Sports Club before joining the Kolkata giants, has offered to extend his services beyond the technical side.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the Red and Gold's Executive Committee member Debabrata Sarkar on Wednesday.
“I wore more than one hat during my Dempo days. I was the general secretary as well as the coach of Dempo. So I know about the administrative part also. If the club wants me, I am ready,” Colaco stated to The Telegraph.
An Executive Committee meeting was held to discuss the aftermath of Sarkar's arrest, after which club secretary Kalyan Majumder commented, “I appreciate what the coach (Colaco) said. But let’s see.”
“We are with him (Sarkar). It’s our moral responsibility,” Majumder added.
“We will be at the ground regularly during practice sessions to boost the players’ morale. And also we have asked our secretary to lead us during this crisis hour,” said another senior official of the club.
