Lalkamal and Snehashish pull out of ISL player pool

The tournament organizers informed the franchisees of the development on Saturday…

Lalkamal Bhowmick and Snehashish Chakraborty are no more part of the Indian Super League’s (ISL) inaugural edition after having earlier agreed to participate.

It must be noted that their names were missing in the final list of domestic draft pool which was released on Saturday.

However, the two players were part of the original domestic draft pool which was shared with the franchisees.

An official from one of the ISL franchisees informed Goal that two players had pulled of the ISL draft due to “personal reasons”, as communicated to them by the tournament organizers, namely IMG-Reliance.

“I am not playing in this year's ISL. I work in Railways and the national tournament of my office will be held in November.

“The papers in ISL said that I can't be part of any other team during that period. For now, there is no guarantee about this thing and I can't risk my job for that.

“I was once been show-caused for skipping an office match while I was in Mohun Bagan and this time I don't want to take a chance,” Snehashish told Goal on Sunday and confirmed the developments.

Attempts made to contact Mohun Bagan’s Lalkamal Bhowmick proved futile as he remained unavailable to comment.
