The Blue Tigers will be in action this October as the Dutch coach intends to play two international friendlies…
The inaugural edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) would have a break in the second week of October as the national team are expected to play two international friendlies on home soil.
While Wim Koevermans had earlier mentioned of being unsure whether they would want to play in October as he wasn’t sure of his players’ fitness, has decided to participate in two international matches.
It is believed that the games could be played at Siliguri’s Kachenjunga Stadium where they played two friendlies last year against Philippines (1-1) and Nepal (2-0).
However India will not be playing any international friendlies in November despite the assigned FIFA matchdays due to a packed domestic calendar as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is struggling to fit all their competitions, such as the ISL, Federation Cup and the I-League.
India were last seen in action back in March this year when they hosted Bangladesh in Goa to just about manage a 2-2 draw.
