The trio of Indian football's top executives paid a visit to be part of world football's most important meet in Sao Paolo...
Indian Football’s governing body, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) was represented at the 64th FIFA Congress, which was held at Sao Paolo, Brazil, just a couple of days before the beginning of the World Cup.
The trio who represented the AIFF were Treasurer Mr. Hardev Jadeja, Vice-President Mr. Subhash Chopra and Executive Committee member Mr. Ankur Dutta. Dutta is also the Vice-President for the Airtel I-League.
The Congress, which has been annual in its congregation since 1998, usually meets to plan out various aspects of FIFA’s governing statuses and issues related to their implementation and application.
It also plays a key role in democratically electing the new President at the end of his term, besides recognition of new football associations and giving a thumbs-up to the annual report of the governing body. Each represented national body at the meeting has one vote.
Whilst Mauritius hosted last year’s congress, the next edition is expected to be hosted at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich.
