Rowllin Borges has been named in the 30-member squad for the training camp as India prepare for the Asian Games starting next month in Bengaluru.
The Sporting Clube de Goa midfielder was excited and thanked his club and coach (Oscar Bruzon) for giving him the necessary exposure in the I-League.
"It feels great to get this chance for the first time in my career. Playing in the I-League has helped me get this far," Borges told Goal.
"I would like to thank our club president (Peter Vaz) and coach Oscar [Bruzon] who has given a lot of young players a chance to prove themselves."
Borges is looking forward to the two matches against the Pakistan Under-23 team in August and hoped to impress coach Wim Koevermans further.
"I will give my best and if I get selected I will give more than 100%," he concluded.
