The India skipper mentioned that winning the league title with the fledgling club is one amongst his top achievements…
Sunil Chhetri was ecstatic having won his second league title in as many years as Bengaluru FC downed Dempo SC 4-2 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa on Monday evening.
The skipper of the southern side ranked winning the title with Bengaluru FC as one of the most moments in his career.
“There are very few moments in my career that will match the significance of this one. It’s been a team effort since day one,” he said.
The 29-year old added that he isn’t taken aback with the success of the club given the hours of hard work put in by the side.
“We’ve fought hard, trained harder and none of us are surprised that we are here today. If anything, we are delighted. This team is going down history. We are the champions of India.”
