The first edition of the campaign shall cover over a hundred schools in the national capital region...
At a media event at the French Cultural Centre, the former Indian national team manager and Managing Director of Edukick Sports, Eric Benny announced the launch of “My Chance” – a unique football tournament that will identify indigenous grassroot talent and sponsor their training at the FC Metz Centre de Formation in France.
The academy is one of best talent hubs in the country and has produced the likes of Robert Pires, Frank Ribery, Emmanuel Adebayor, Louis Saha and Miralem Pjanic amongst others.
The first edition of “My Chance” is expected to cover about a 100 schools in the National Capital Region (NCR). Although “My Chance” is the first of its kind tournament promoting Indian footballing talent on a global scale, four Indian boys are already working on their game at the famed French academy.
After receiving training under Eric Benny, India’s very own Vedaant Nag, Luv Kapoor, Maanas Kaalra and Shiv Jhangiani from Delhi broke into the French frontier. Impressing one and all in a trial at FC Metz, Delhi-based Manas Kaalra and Shiv Jhangiani were the first Indian boys to train full-time in an International European Club Academy while pursuing their studies at the same time.
Since then two more talented boys have been inducted into the prestigious academy - Vedaant Nag & Luv Kapoor.
Denis Schaeffer, Director, FC Metz Academy said: “FC Metz is pleased and delighted to expand our collaboration with Edukick. We have long had a desire to facilitate the development of Football in India. Through our relationship with Eric Benny we have accepted Manas, Shiv, Vedaant & Luv at our Academy in Metz and are expecting more in the coming months.”
