The Men in Blue had predictably dropped a massive ten places in the last edition of the rankings as they had gone down to Tajikistan by three goals in a friendly before a loss to Nepal and a disappointing draw against Bangladesh culminating with a loss against Afghanistan in the group stages of the SAFF Championship.
They edged past Maldives in the semi-finals before losing to Afghanistan, who are ranked 133rd, in the final.
Japan are the highest Asian ranked nation at 44th spot followed by Iran at 49th and Uzbekistan at 55th.
