The 23-man India U-19 squad, due to kick off their campaign in the Asian Football Confederation's U-23 Qualifiers, departed for Doha.
India are in Group A with them having the onerous task of facing hosts Qatar, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Nepal.
In the last of the friendlies that the team played in India, they played out an encouraging draw with SESA Goa, a Goa-pro league outfit. The team have been largely formed out of the Goa Elite Academy, a talent development pool.
The Blue Tigers face Qatar on October 4th followed by Nepal, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on the 6th, 10th and 12th of this month respectively.
