Dempo Sports Club have completed the signing of Japanese defender Shinnosuke Honda from Buriram United.
Honda who represented Japan in the U-22 championships, began his career at J-League side Jubilo Iwata before joining Buriram United. He won the Thai premier League and Thai FA Cup in 2011. He also spent two seasons on loan to Bangkok Glass FC.
Earlier this month, Honda was on trials with Dempo Sports Club where he managed to impress their new coach Arthur Papas.
The 23 year old has become the Goan club's fourth signing this summer and is expected to boost their defense.
FIFA Licensed Agent and Libero Sports Partner Arvind Narayan, who represented the defender in the transfer, said ‘’Honda is technically a very good defender and has had successful stints at his previous clubs. I am sure he will continue in the same way and with his experience and quality, he will look to be a vital cog in Dempo SC’s team for next season.”
Honda is expected to link-up with his new teamin the first week of September.
