Shah Rukh Khan looks set to add another sports team to his collection after he expressed his desire to bid for the Kolkata franchise in the newly promoted IMG-Reliance league.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner was previously interested in owning a stake at the succesful Goan club Dempo SC but the idea of the new league changed his mind.

"Earlier I was planning to buy stakes in Dempo and now with the new franchise-based league coming up, I will have a look at it. I will love to own a franchise," said Shah Rukh Khan in an interview with NDTV.

"I will love to have the Kolkata football club." he added.

The teams shortlisted for the auction are Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Goa and Guwahati.

The new tournament is scheduled between January 18 and March 30 and is expected to run on the lines of cricket's Indian Premier League (IPL).
