thumbnail Hello,

The Reds of the north-east have added the two experienced campaigners to their current roster

Shillong Lajong FC have announced the signings of goalkeeper Vinay Singh and defender Robin Gurung for the upcoming I-League season 2013-14.

Gurung, who hails from the state of Sikkim, played for ONGC FC for the last three years and the young 20-year-old will look to bring depth to the current Lajong backline.

Vinay Singh played for I-League champions Churchill Brothers from 2008 to 2011 and then joined Salgaocar SC from 2011 to 2013 before putting pen to paper to seal his move to Shillong.

After deciding to leave the Goan shores for the first time in his career since 2008, Vinay hopes to get rid of being the second fiddle custodian at his new club.

"Shillong Lajong is a good club. They needed an experienced goalkeeper so they approached me," he told Goal. "I have always tried my best and hopefully I will make it to the first 11 over here (Lajong)."

Gurung is yet to arrive into the city as the pre-season of the club is expected to begin only by around the end of this month.
