Indian Women smashed two goals past Bahrain without reply and thus made it two victories out of two in the International Friendly series...
Indian Women beat Bahrain Women 2-0 at the National Football Stadium in Riffa in the second of the two match Friendly series with two second half goals from Prameshwori Devi in the 56th minute and Kamala Devi in the 71st minute.
Indian coach Anadi Barua only made one change to the side that comprehensively outclassed Bahrain 2-1 in their last friendly match with Premi Devi in place of Pinky Bompal. Premi filled in at a midfield position while Kamala Devi was playing striker for this match.
India started the match on a positive note with atleast two chances in the first ten minutes with Bala Devi and Bembem Devi both going close. However it was an early bath for Bala Devi who had to go off with an injury and last match's scorer Pinky Bompal came on as a replacement.
In spite of India's dominance, the first half ended all square and it took two late strikes from the women in blue to win the encounter. While Prameshwori slotted home a fine left-footer that crashed into the top left corner from an acute angle off a Sasmita Malik corner, Kamala turned on the heat with her solo effort jinking past defenders to unleash a venomous left-footer from 25 yards, which was her second goal in as many occasions.
India were certainly the better team over the two encounters, and they go into the AFC Cup Qualifiers in top form and ready to do their very best to secure qualification.
