The Budweiser Cup India 2013 is providing a unique platform to aspiring football players across the country, allowing them to experience the professional level of the beautiful game through a series of six-a-side matches. Winners and runners-up from each city will participate in the National Finals to be held in New Delhi to determine the Budweiser Cup India 2013 champions. The championship team will receive a trip to London to represent India in the global Budweiser Cup finals.



The Bengaluru regional finals will be held on Sunday, March 24th at the HAL Grounds. Members of the media have been invited to participate in an exhibition tournament which will also take place on Sunday.

India last participated in the Budweiser Cup in 2009, when 224 teams from across the country competed for the chance to represent India against 14 other countries at the finals held at Manchester’s iconic Old Trafford.



“Budweiser has a long history of supporting football around the world at all levels,” said Mr. Gokul Luwang, Budweiser’s Brand Manager.

Speaking about Budweiser Cup, Mr. Shanmugham Venkatesh, Team India legend and current Pune FC player, praised Budweiser for organizing a global football tournament for amateur football players, “The Budweiser 6v6 Cup London offers a great platform for amateur footballers to compete against each other and hone their skills in a fun and competitive environment. This initiative by Budweiser will allow aspiring footballers to become better at their game and give a good account of the rising standard of Indian football in the global championships."
