The midfielder sounded upbeat as his side is set to face Hong Kong's Kitchee SC in an away clash of the AFC Cup scheduled for Tuesday...Lenny Rodrigues believes that Churchill Brothers SC are in good shape ahead of their Group E match of the AFC Cup against Kitchee SC.
"Sunil Chhetri and [Lamine] Tamba played in the Goa League match [against Dempo] and they clicked well. We played an almost full strength team as we could get the best form of last minute practice before our AFC Cup match," the 25-year-old told Goal.com before the Churchill squad boarded their flight for Hong Kong.
"Only Steven [Dias] and I didn't play [against Dempo]," he added. "I had an ankle injury, but I have recovered now and [I] am completely fit now."
|Balal Arezou has not traveled
Turning his focus back on the next match, he revealed that Churchill's striker Balal Arezou has not traveled with the team. "Balal couldn't come because of some visa problem," he said.
The Goan was however confident that the Afghan international's absence will be shouldered by the rest of the squad, as he continued, "Our team and our midfield is well organised and I think that will be enough to provide support up-front.
"They (Kitchee SC) must be a strong side as they drew against Arsenal in the pre-season," he went on to guage their Asian opponents based on the 2-2 draw they had salvaged against the Premier League outfit in July last year.
"We will be going for a win, but as we will be playing away, I think a draw also could be a good result," he stated.
