This is especially after the success of Indian Premier League (IPL) in the cricketing scenario which has shown that the majority of Indians like city based league system. Sunando Dhar, the CEO of the I-League already detailed AIFF's plans on utilizing the franchisee model of operations as he said, "The AIFF is already roping in two franchisees for the I-League this season. We shall decide on the investors (new teams) before the season comes to an end."
