Pailan Arrows boss Arthur Papas praised East Bengal for managing to sneak a 2-1 win against them at Kalyani Stadium, Kolkata on Saturday. Although his side took the lead early through Alwyn George but goals by Chidi Edeh and Lalrindika Ralte in the first half meant East Bengal went to top of the table.

"Credit to East Bengal, to win the league you got to win most of the games" said Papas even though he was not really impressed with the performance of East Bengal.

"I don't think it was there best game today but it was a sign of a good team that you still win the game."

Papas was impressed with his side's performance even though they failed to get anything out from this game.

"My boys were excellent today to be honest. We went ahead early, we needed to get through the next 10 minutes without conceding to settle in but could not," he opined.

"I think they were not a lot better than us in the first half. Maybe chances wise they had a few more chances than us but it was quite controlled. In the second half we changed a couple of things and it was fantastic," said the Australian.

Papas refused to comment on the refereeing as he said, "I don't prefer commenting on refereeing decisions. I think you can't change decisions."

He was pleased with the performance of Pritam Kotal who did well in restricting the movement of Chidi Edeh in the box.

"I think Pritam is becoming an excellent player slowly. He has played right back, left back, center back and he can adjust at different positions. He is maturing, he is getting better on the ball and has matured physically a lot," he mentioned.
