"It feels really happy. Everyone has dreams of playing for his country. And when you get a chance you want to do your best," Bhowmick told Goal.com.
He also realises that this is just the first step and getting into the starting XI will take a lot out of him. "It is going to be tough. I will try my best to get into the starting eleven and do my best for the country," said the 26-year old.
After being ignored by the selection committee on several occasions in the past, Bhowmick stated that he holds no grudges against them.
"There are no hard feelings. Every player needs to perform well and stake his claim in the team. Every player has his day. My time is now and I need to capitalise on it rather than thinking about the the past. I will play my brand of football and hope for the best," Bhowmick remarked.
Bhowmick, who plied his trade with the Mariners for five years before joining Prayag, also spoke on the contribution of club coach Eelco Schattorie in his development. "The way he coaches has been great for both the players and the team. He has done very well and stresses on keeping possession of the ball. This is beneficial for the team as well as the player."

The Bengal boy also spoke about the Japanese sensation Arata Izumi, who was a surprise selection in the Indian squad. Arata, who obtained Indian citizenship in August 2012, has been one to look out for in the future. Bhowmick felt the same and said, "Arata is a very good player. He is a quality player and can contribute to the team a lot. He got the Indian citizenship and that is really good for us," opined the Prayag medio.
On quizzed about Prayag's chances in the I-League, Lalkamal said, "Chances to win the league are dim. But we will not lose hope. We are currently 11 points behind the league leaders and need to win each match if we are to look for the top spot. All we can do is win our matches and hope for the best. There is absolutely no room for errror for us."
