It is well and truly a football extravaganza at Kolkata this weekend. The City of Joy will gear up to see some of the world's best rolling back the years and wooing the Kolkata crowd when the Brazilian Masters will take on the IFA All Stars on December 8, 2012.

The Masters side will see Brazilian greats of yesteryear like Dunga, Bebeto and Juninho Paulista pit their skills against former India legends Gautam Sarkar, Subrata Bhattacharya, Basudeb Mondal and Debashish Mukherjee. The fans were offered a glimpse of what they can expect on Saturday, when the All Stars had their first practice session on Thursday.

Sarkar, Bhattacharya and Mondal were joined by Aloke Mukherjee, Compton Datta, Debashish Mukherjee, Manas Bhattacharya, Bidesh Bose, Krishnendu Roy and Prasanta Banerjee in a two-hour long session. The Brazilian Masters will be landing in Kolkata on Friday.

Dunga will lineup alongside other Brazilian legends against the IFA All Stars

"It feels nice to be practising together. Let's see how it pans out," said Subrata Bhattacharya. Two other members of the All Star squad, Sisir Ghosh and Bagan legend Jose Ramirez Barreto will be expected to join the squad on Friday. Former Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita, the architect of the famous 'Scorpion Save', will be guarding the posts for the All Stars. Higuita met his teammates on Thursday after overcoming jetlag and will be training with the team on Friday.

Higuita met West Bengal Sports Minister Madan Mitra at the Writers Building. "I do not have much idea about Indian football, but I am hoping to learn more from my teaamates," Higuita said and added that he was looking forward to renewing his old rivalry with the Brazilians.

The 46-year old also was open to the idea of coaching in India and would consider it seriously if a good offer is made.
