Football lovers in the City of Joy are up for another visual spectacle, when the likes of Dunga, Roberto Carlos and Bebeto come to play a match at the Salt Lake Stadium...

After the memorable evening of September 2, 2011 when football fanatics in Kolkata witnessed Lionel Messi in person turning up in Argentina colours for an International friendly against Venezuela, euphoria is soon to engulf Kolkata yet again this week as Brazilian superstars of the 1994 and 2002 World Cup winning teams will come calling.

Saturday, December 8, 2012 is the designated date when the Brazilian stars will turn up for 'NVD Brazil Masters' against a team assembled by Indian Football Association (IFA), the governing body for football in the state of West Bengal.

The exhibition game, titled 'Angel Agritech Cup', between NVD Brazil Masters and IFA Super Stars will be played for 90 minutes, with direct penalty shootout to decide the winner in case of a tie.

Twelve players have so far confirmed their participation in the Brazil Masters squad with the star names being obviously 1994 World Cup winning captain, Dunga and 2002 World Cup Winner and Real Madrid legend, Roberto Carlos.

The full team includes:

Bebeto, Dunga, Mauro Silva, Paulo Sergio, Zinho, Aldair, Zetti, Roberto Carlos, Juninho Paulista and Edmilson, Caio Felipe and Nilton Cesar

Meanwhile, the IFA All Stars team is augmented by the participation of 'El Loco', the temperamental Colombian custodian, Rene Higuita who etched his name in the history books with his famous 'Scorpion Kick' saves.

Local stars from the likes of Alvito D' Cunha to Jose Ramirez Barreto are expected to be a part of the team. Efforts are also being made to rope in the likes of ex-Indian footballers, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Prasun Banerjee and Subrata Bhattacharya. 'El Pibe' or Carlos Valderrama may also be part of the IFA All stars team, according to the event organizers, Omnibus.

Tickets for the showpiece event are already available online at Kyazoonga while 'The Mobile Store' Outlets all across Kolkata will also be selling the tickets for this event starting today. The organisers have also opened a ticketing outlet at the Salt Lake Stadium besides promising to take out Mobile ticketing vans at the busy intersections of Kolkata. In order to reach across more people tickets have been priced reasonably from Rs. 200 to Rs. 499 (VIP tickets).

In order to increase spectator count, the organisers have also decided to sell some 25,000 tickets at a discounted price of Rs. 100 especially for students.

The biggest casualty of this high profile match is going to be the round ten I-League match scheduled at the Salt Lake Stadium on December 7th, 2012 between Pailan Arrows and Churchill Brothers SC.

IFA Secretary, Utpal Ganguly informed that the police had raised issues regarding the security of holding the I-League match on the day the superstars arrive in the City. He mentioned of having written to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to postpone the tie. The Brazil Masters are expected to arrive on the city on Friday and immediately go for a practice session at the Salt Lake Stadium.
