Known to many football fans as the man who made the 'Scorpion save', Higuita is expected to be in the City of Joy, subject to obtaining his visa on time, on November 12 for a two-day visit to promote the proposed match in December 8th between Brazilian Masters and Sports Ministers Legends at the Salt Lake Stadium. The Colombian goalkeeper is among several legends who are lined up for the event.
According to a Times of India source, close to those organizing the match, Higuita is rumoured to attend the Kali Puja festivities by visiting a few pandals and distributing crackers to poor children.
The organizers are also trying to rope in Higuita's countryman in Carlos Valderrama, who has achieved cult status amongst fans for his hairstyle in addition to his football, and another member of the Brazilian Masters squad that will feature the likes of Roberto Carlos, Bebeto and Juninho Paulista.
Mohun Bagan legend Jose Ramirez Barreto is also expected to be part of the high profile game along with a few other Indian footballers.
Organizers will be trying to ensure that they garner the fans' attention to the event by launching a full fledged promotional event this week in addition to keeping ticket prices at an affordable rate to guarantee a full house on the D-Day.
