Former United skipper has hailed India’s market potential in the world of football and believes that the Red Devils could soon visit the country…
Legendary Manchester United star Bryan Robson believes that the most successful English club are planning a tour to India as part of their pre-season plans in the “next few years.”
“We have a very small window between seasons. We had gone to the United States a couple of times because our sponsors AON came on board and made things happen pretty quickly. This year we went to Africa. Asia and especially India is indeed part of our plans and we want to interact with our fans here as well. We are working on it and I see it happening in the next few years,” Robson told The Deccan Herald.
“It will be great for Indian football fans. The team toured Asia recently and maybe sometimes could come to India as well,” he added.
Like most Premier League clubs, Manchester United too are keen to make inroads into the market potential of India given the large number of fan base they have in this part of the world.
“India is a big potential market for soccer and with millions Manchester United followers, the country is one of the fastest growing fan bases for the club,” said the former Thailand coach.
