The outspoken manager doesn't mince his words as he opined on Chhetri's move to the Portuguese club...
Subhash Bhowmick, tehnical director at Churchill Brothers, has expressed his doubts as to whether Sunil Chhetri would be successful at Sporting CP's 'B' side as he believes that his former protege doesn't the essential skills and speed needed to make an impact in Europe.
“It's a very good move, very ambitious move, but I got my doubts”, said Bhowmick to Prudent Media, a local Goan channel, regarding Sunil Chhetri’s move to Sporting Clube de Portugal ‘B’ team.
“Knowing Sunil, his football, very very difficult. I have to be practical. The strength and speed in which the European football works under, none of these Sunil possesses.”

The former Mohun Bagan coach believes that the going for Chhetri will be tough and the task to get into the second team too wouldn't be a cakewalk.
“Get into the first team, hats off or even if he gets into the second team even, I will be very happy. Like Bhaichung Bhutia, he went to play for Bury in a second division club [in Europe]. Forget about first team, second team he was not even regular," said Bhowmick, who has coached Bhaichung and Chhetri in his stint with the Red and Gold.
“But I will appreciate that Sunil has taken the step, that he is gone out. But as far as playing is concerned, I have got my doubts," he added skeptically.
