The Kerala native acknowledges that he will have to work hard in order to impress Wim Koevermans in the upcoming national camp...Denson Devadas will feature for Mohun Bagan come next season after ending association with United SC having played for them since 2007.
"Prayag United have held a good position in Indian football. They have been getting better as the years have progressed and have an equally balanced team now," he spoke of his former side.
"For the last two years, they (United SC) have been continuously giving a good fight to the two big clubs of Kolkata - East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. I had continued there for five years, so I thought of accepting this change with my move to Mohun Bagan and too see how far I go while facing new challenges."
Denson also credited Santosh Kashyap for his last I-League stint with Air India and reasoned that the coach has earned his chance at Mohun Bagan.
"He (Kashyap) is a very good coach. As far as Air India is concerned, last year they had given a good performance and only because of him did they finish in a decent position, otherwise they always used to fight relegation.
"That's why he is at Mohun Bagan this season. I have been with him for the first time, and after speaking to him, I came to know that he likes to face pressure ans also that it was his aim to coach a team in Kolkata."
|How was that for a performance?|
Denson Devadas has been included in India's 37-man probable squad for the Nehru Cup by Wim Koevermans and the midfielder wants to make the most of this opportunity.
"This is the first time I have been called up for the [India] camp. I had expected a call in 2010 when I had a good season in the I-League and also in the Santosh Trophy (playing for West Bengal), but unfortunately I didn't get noticed.
"Everything has its own time and this is the best time for me to push myself forward," he admitted. "I always believe that if you work hard consistently, your day will come.
"I heard that this coach (Koevermans) is trying some new strategies. I will get something more to learn," he added.
"As he is a new coach, in his view, everybody will be equal and he will notice everyone. This will be a positive sign for me to give my best."
