Subrata Paul all set to go to Germany for a trial at RB Leipzig in the Regionalliga Nord

After Gurpreet Singh Sandhu went to Wigan Athletic for trial, it's now Subrata Paul's turn to go for trials at RB Leipzig in the 4th division of Germany...
The recent trend of Indian football players looking to ply their trade abroad continues on a sure footing, now with Subrata Paul putting his hat in the fray. The former India No. 1 goalkeeper is set to go for a trial this weekend at RB Leipzig, a German association football club, which plays in the 4th Division, the Regionlliga Nord.Paul follows in the footsteps of fellow goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who has just traveled to Wigan Athletic in the English Premier League for a trial cum training week long session. There is of course Sunil Chhetri who has recently signed for Portuguese giants, Sporting CP 'B'.
Subrata Paul, after spending the majority of the last season injured had lost the India no. 1 position to Karanjit Singh but was still considered to be by far India's best shot stopper by a mile. He had already left his former club, Pune FC for a stint in Kolkata with high spending, Prayag United.
Paul is no stranger to foreign forays as he had already tried his luck with top Canadian side, Vancouver Whitecaps in 2010 through his agency Libero Sports, but could not impress enough to earn a contract. He would hope that he would be luckier this time around, and would manage to grab some eyeballs in Europe.
