I-League: Champions Dempo SC snap Ryuji Sueoka from Salgaocar SC

The impressive Japanese has agreed terms with the I-League champions and shall add more firepower to their attack…

Ryuji Sueoka, who has been the most consistent Asian player for the last two seasons or so, shall don the Dempo SC colours come next season as he decided to part ways with Salgaocar SC.

He shall add another dimension to Dempo’s attack given that he can play as a second striker, as an attacking central midfielder and even on the wings.

The 33 year old first played for Mohun Bagan in second half of the 2009-10 season under coach Karim Bencherifa and thereafter followed him to Salgaocar the following season.

Sueoka was one of the star performers for Salgaocar SC as they won the I-League in the 2010-11 season and followed it up with success in the Federation Cup at the start of the last season.

Dempo SC coach Armando Colaco has long been an admirer of Sueoka and it comes as no surprise that the latter has decided to join the I-League champions. The Japanese is expected sign on the dotted line with Dempo in the first week of next month.
