I-League team of the round 23 - Opara and Adeola star at either end of the pitch

Goal.com summarizes all the action of the I-League and selects a team from the best performers of round 23...

Just 5 games took place in matchweek 23, however there was no shortage of drama, as fortunes fluctuated at both, the top and bottom of the table.

Churchill Brothers started the proceedings with a 4-0 win over Chirag United Kerala, a victory inspired by substitute ND Opara, who came off the bench to score a hat-trick.

The Kerala-based side’s misery was further deepened, as Mumbai FC carved out a 2-1 win over Shillong Lajong at home, to rise above Chirag United and out of the relegation zone.

Prayag United then overcame a spirited Pailan Arrows challenge, to register a 2-1 win, which strengthens their position in mid-table.

Air India then lost 2-0 at home to an impressive Sporting Clube de Goa side, allowing the Goans to pull clear of the Airmen in the league table.

In a major jolt to their title aspirations, the Mariners failed to get past a stubborn HAL Bangalore outfit and were held to a 0-0 draw.
