News had surfaced on Thursday that the cash rich Premier League Soccer (PLS) had suffered a major setback before it even took off in the form of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) advising FIFA to temporarily remove the six PLS franchisees from the Transfer Matching System(TMS) which is mandatory to recruit any foreign players whether attached to a club or not.

However the Indian Football Association (IFA), one of the organisers of the PLS along with CMG claimed on Friday, that the tournament would go ahead as schedule. IFA secretary Utpal Ganguly accepted that Fifa had indeed asked for some clarifications, but there was certainly no setback according to him

Regarding this fresh tussle with AIFF, he admitted that some clarifications were needed.

"FIFA had some queries and we have responded to them. It will be sorted out. There would not be any change in schedule."

According to AIFF sources, the passwords which had been provided to the six PLS clubs for using the TMS, were asked to be suspended as the clubs could not provide adequate documents to prove that they were affiliated to the state association, IFA.

With the tournament dates being fixed, this would indeed could be a setback in setting up and establishing this all new league, and the IFA and CMG have to sort this as soon as possible to keep to the schedule.
