Mohammedan Sporting's 75th Anniversary of First Kolkata League Triumph Celebrated

The Valerian Soccer Foundation organized a seminar to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Mohammedan Sporting’s first ever Kolkata League triumph.

On July 5th 1934, Mohammedan Sporting became the first Indian club to win the Kolkata League.  

Valerian Soccer Foundation, which is a soccer study and research center, organized a seminar on “Victory, after 75 years - Mohammedan Sporting Club’s first Calcutta League (1934) win as first Indian team in historical perspective”.  

The prominent speakers of the seminar were Prof. Kausik Bandyopadhay, Reader, History, West Bengal State University & Associated Editor,Soccer and Society, London. and Prof. Md. Suleiman Khurshid,Head of the Dept., History , City College & Former President and General Secretary, Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Zameel Manzar, Secretary, Mohammedan Sporting Club wished success to the event by sending a written Urdu message. It was presided by Sayed Md. Masih, Chief Government Whip, Govt. of West Bengal.  

The seminar was also attended by a number of football lovers of different ages.
