Why Climax Couldn't Travel With The National Team?
Climax Lawrence spoke to Goal.com and explained as to why he couldn’t travel with the national team when they left for Dubai last night...
Speaking to Goal.com, Climax Lawrence said, “Ever since I reached Delhi, I haven’t been in the best of health. I have fever and I believe, it’s because of the weather change. In Delhi, it’s very hot while in Goa, it’s cold.
“The coach told me that to stay back and that they shall inform me when to join the team after I regain my health.”
A source from the Indian FA mentioned since Climax’s flu hasn’t been properly examined, the authorities in Dubai could ask him to undergo a swine flu test.
“They said that it’s strict in Dubai and that if some test fails, then the whole team would have to come back.
“I shall regain my health once at home and the fever should subside,” added Climax.
Arsenal had asked Carlos Vela to stay at home for a day ahead of the Champions League semi-finals against Manchester United, after some of his friends from Mexico, where a lot of lives have been claimed by the deadly virus, visited him.
In fact, FIFA were considering the threat of swine flu and could have possibly cancelled the Confederations Cup if the need arose, just six weeks before the mega event in South Africa.
