After Spanish Fantasy, It's Back To Indian Reality - Bhaichung Bhutia
Team India is to leave for Dubai and Spain for more than a month for the preparatory camps and friendlies ahead of the Nehru Cup later tonight and Indian skipper Bhaichung Bhutia was in good spirits as he gave a fitting analogy of a player’s state of mind post-foreign tours.

While everyone has been speaking of the excitement of going
to Barcelona and using the best facilities available in world football today,
the Sikkimese Sniper pointed that after the tour it’s back to the normal
routine for the Indian internationals.
Speaking to Goal.com, Bhaichung said, “We have been given one month to enjoy the throne. Go and see the King’s kingdom, use and enjoy his facilities for 30 days following which, you realise that you are not the king and have to come back to the peasant life!
“It’s great to see the standard and facilities in Spain but then, its back to feeling sorry and miserable as you come back to reality.”
Infrastructure has been a problem with Indian football, which is why the Men in Blue are to travel to Dubai for a fitness camp.
“It’s a good exposure trip, and as long as there’s no infrastructure and we go for such trips, then I am happy,” said the striker on a lighter note with a smile.
When asked about the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) refusal to award the ‘Certificate of Competence’ which is an alternative for those who don’t have the ‘A’ licenses in coaching, to several coaches of the I-League, the Indian football icon sympathized with the lot.
“Eventually, this rule has to come. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) must set a deadline to achieve this. You just can’t have a rule today and expect the clubs to adhere to it tomorrow. I guess in India, you have to set a target that by 2010 or 2011, everyone has to comply with the rules.
“In India, you need to give time.”
Bhaichung also spoke on the ongoing battle with Mohun Bagan and his decision to join his former East Bengal.
“I will fight the unjust that has been done. It’s been a long battle now but, I feel the players must rise up against such issues,” said Bhaichung.
