Veteran striker Dipendu Biswas spoke to Goal.com on his move to Mohammedan Sporting and their targets for next season.

Former Mohun Bagan and East Bengal  striker Dipendu Biswas signed for Mohammedan Sporting from George Telegraph on Monday and is very much looking forward to his third stint for the black and whites.

Speaking to Goal.com he said, “I have always done well for Mohammedan and this time also I hope to do the same and help them get back to the I-League.”

Last season, Dipendu played for George Telegraph in the I-League second division. This time also the modest Kolkata club were making a decent side but the striker had no hesitation in joining Mohammedan, once they approached him.

“I did whatever I could with George and even though I was happy there, I couldn’t say no to Mohammedan.

“They have always given me respect and since they presented me with another opportunity I had to sign for them.”

Dipendu has full faith in the Mohammedan squad for the upcoming season and is confident of promotion to the I-League.

“The current squad has a good mix of young and experienced players and I am sure we will do well in the Kolkata League, Federation Cup and other tournaments.

“But more importantly I think this team has what it takes to get straight back into the I-League, which is our primary target next season,” he concluded.
