The Indian elections may have ended but it’s the time to vote again especially for football fans in India!

Baichung Bhutia of Mohun Bagan against Air India during Federation Cup 2008 (Mango Peel)

Bhaichung Bhutia has been showcasing his skills on a different pitch altogether for the last three months or so in the dance reality show called Jhalakh Dikhlaa Jaa. After a nervy start with the ‘Dance Pe Chance’ performance, the Sikkimese Sniper has been the dark horse snapping up points and remaining in contention to win the trophy.

The Indian skipper has been engulfed in controversy after his club Mohun Bagan questioned his commitment as stated that football has become ‘secondary’ for the star player over reality shows. Being furious with the above claims, Bhaichung has asked for a release from Mohun Bagan despite having a year left in his contract.

Amongst the hullaballoo, the player put on a fine performance in the show broadcasted last evening being tied with fellow finalist Gauhar Khan on points. Bhaichung also received a standing ovation from the judges after his performance in the ‘Kaise Mujhe Tum’ number. Also present in the audience were his wife Madhuri and fellow Indian international Abhishek Yadav.

So all the Indian football fans, what are you waiting for? The voting lines are open till 8 pm IST.
