Bhaichung Is Welcome At East Bengal - Subhash Bhowmick

The East Bengal Executive Committee met yesterday and decided unanimously that should Bhaichung Bhutia get a release from Mohun Bagan, the Red and Gold’s wouldn’t leave any stone unturned to get the services of the Indian skipper for the next season.

Bhaichung Bhutia has demanded a release from Mohun Bagan following the club’s decision to humiliate the player in public by questioning his commitment. However, the player has a year left in his contract and it remains to be seen whether the Green and Maroons would allow their star player to join their arch rivals.

Speaking to Goal.com, East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar said,”Bhaichung is a respected player and the final decision on him will be taken by our coach Subhash Bhowmick who is currently in England.”

Subhash Bhowmick has time and again made his admiration for the Sikkimese Sniper known and it was no different when asked whether he would like to coach the Indian international at East Bengal.

“Bhaichung Bhutia is an Indian icon and still remains the best Indian striker. A player of his calibre is always welcome at East Bengal,” Bhowmick told Goal.com.

It is believed that Bhowmick has spoken to Bhaichung and the latter has assured the former of possibly getting the release from Mohun Bagan.
