Kolkata Clubs At It Again - Mahesh Gawli On Bhaichung Issue
Mahesh Gawli has lent sent his support to Bhaichung and mentioned that it was just another incident of Kolkata clubs not being grateful to their players...
Mohun Bagan had publicly humiliated the Indian skipper by distributing copies of the show cause and Dempo’s star defender feels that the situation could have been handled better. The Green and Maroons show caused following the absence of Bhaichung from the trip to Jaipaiguri to participate in an exhibition match.
“I feel it doesn’t make sense for him (Bhaichung) to play in an exhibition game ahead of an AFC Cup match. What if Bhaichung would get injured and it would create unnecessary problems? These games are for youngsters and they must be given a chance.
“In my opinion, Mohun Bagan should have contacted Bhaichung and only then taken an action. Mohun Bagan are wrong in this regard.
“Kolkata clubs bring up a player and suddenly bring them down. If they can do this to Bhaichung, then what about ordinary people?” said Gawli.
Mahesh further stated that the club must publicly apologize Bhaichung or else allow the player to join some other club.
“I think Bhaichung must change the club now. Maybe, if Mohun Bagan issue a public apology then, he might even consider,” added the 29 year old.
