Bhaichung Wants Mohun Bagan Release
Bhaichung Bhutia has decided to part ways with Mohun Bagan following accusations levelled on him by the club questioning his level of commitment.
Last week Mohun Bagan had show caused Bhaichung Bhutia for missing a number of practice sessions and for not doing justice to his Indian icon tag. They were reportedly miffed about the player being absent for the trip to Jaipaiguri for an exhibition match. Mohun Bagan stated that it was due to Bhaichung’s poor display towards the end of the season which resulted in the team missing out on the I-League title.
Incidentally, the club had allowed Bhaichung in the first place to participate in the show but according to Mohun Bagan, the terms stated by the Sikkimese Sniper were breached.
Today, at a press conference, Bhaichung announced that he wishes never to play for Mohun Bagan ever and it’s better for both parties if a peaceful separation is preferred.
It was a perfect reply to the club’s antics of trying to humiliate Bhaichung in public by distributing copies of the show cause to the media. Mohun Bagan would now have to think as to what they plan to do next. Bhaichung has a year left in his contract.
