Mohun Bagan To Bhaichung: Football First And Then Dance!

Being miffed with Bhaichung Bhutia for missing a number of training sessions towards the end of the season and failure to travel with the team for an exhibition tie at Jaipaiguri on Monday, Mohun Bagan have show caused the Indian skipper and explain his behaviour until which he cannot join the team practice.

The Sikkimese Sniper reported to Jordan on the day of their AFC Cup tie against Al Wehdat ten days ago which apparently didn’t go too well with club general secretary Anjan Mitra. This was followed by the Mohun Bagan skipper deciding not to travel to Jaipaiguri though there are suggestions that the player had some niggling injuries.

The letter states that the face of Indian football has been taking things too lightly and hasn’t justified his role as the Indian icon with his casual behaviour. Mohun Bagan accused Bhaichung of getting his priorities wrong as football seems to be number two on his agenda; behind the dance reality show he has been part of which has seen him shuffle between Kolkata and Mumbai every week.

“The reality show is a test of how much people support you. If I do reach the final, it will show that people do love other games apart from cricket as well,” said Bhaichung earlier as he has already reached the final four in the show.

It must be recalled that the player has taken prior permission from the club and the coach Karim Bencherifa before embarking on his dance journey.
