Fans and footballers finally have a common platform where they can interact, and that very platform is Goal.com India!
Indian football has long suffered due to negligence and poor coverage, and our primary aim at Goal.com India is to correct that. This is why we are delighted to launch player websites for your favourite Indian footballers, so that all you fans out there can communicate and send messages across to your heroes.
The ten players are:
1) Abhishek Yadav
2) Clifford Miranda
3) Climax Lawrence
4) K Ajayan
5) Mahesh Gawli
6) Mehrajuddin Wadoo
7) NP Pradeep
8) Renedy Singh
9) Sunil Chhetri
10) Surkumar Singh
Speaking on the player websites, links to which are now up on the Goal.com homepage, Goal.com India Business Head Kapil Chettri explained, “Indian football today is at a stage where stars are waiting for the fans, and vice versa. Goal.com is the largest football site in terms of traffic worldwide, and has attempted to bridge the gap between the two, and provide a common platform.”
Goal.com realizes that this healthy exchange of views between fans and footballers will hold Indian football in good stead for the future, and can take the game one level higher in the country. Selecting the players wasn’t an easy task, as the organization scanned the best Indian footballers in the country, and pinned down these nine names as they have proved themselves on the pitch.
Also, these footballers represent their respective regions. For example, Renedy Singh is the face of Manipur in Indian football, and inspires several young kids in the state to take up the sport. We are providing websites not only for established national players, but also for the upcoming stars, and will have more websites added to the nine put up already.
One question that every fan is likely to think of while reading this is, “What about Bhaichung Bhutia?” In fact, Bhaichung was the first footballer to be contacted for these websites, but he insisted that we go ahead with the project with the younger lot, who will be around the national team for longer.
Goal.com is dedicated to the betterment of Indian football, and will continue to work in its own way to make a difference.
