In a touching gesture, former Indian captain and Mohammedan Sporting idol Shabbir Ali was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions towards the Kolkata club on the football pitch.

The Dawat-e-Iftar at the Kshudiram Anush-ilan Kendra in Kolkata was the centre of much celebration as Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal's chief minister, conferred the award on Ali.

A cheque worth Rupees 1 lakh was also presented to the Santosh Trophy winning coach, with Bengal, who has also been conferred the Dhyanchand award at a national level. He has also win the National Football League (NFL) with Salgaocar FC in the past.

Mohammad Habib, John Victor and Moidul Islam are some fo the footballers who have been felicitated with the Lifetime achievement award from Mohammedan Sporting.
