Creson Antao has signed for Sporting Clube de Goa on a two-year deal following a disappointing season with Dempo SC where he didn't get a single start.

"I signed [for Sporting Clube de Goa] for two years. They wanted me for a longer term, but I said that I'll sign for two years and thereafter I'll see," the defender confirmed to Goal.

For the time and success earned with the Golden Eagles, Antao recalled, "When I first joined Dempo, we were the second time winners of the NFL (National Football League). We won the Federation Cup, lost Cristiano Junior, won the Durand Cup and the I-League three times. Mahesh [Gawli] and me were playing as the regular stopper backs for Dempo."

The Majorda-based footballer revealed that he was compelled to make the decision to leave Dempo SC due to an altercation with coach Arthur Papas at the start of the season.

"I joined another team after eight years, but one day you have to [move]. The argument between the coach (Arthur Papas) and myself made me to take this decision. It was something not involved with football," Antao elucidated.

"Otherwise I would have played. If everything was okay, I would (could) have been in the India team. Now I'll be hoping for the best by giving my best for Sporting," he added.

The Goan also made it known that he was contacted by IMG-Reliance for his services in the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL).

"They (IMG-Reliance) contacted me, but as I already signed for Sporting I told them to talk to the club. After a break for one year, I want to prove myself again. I have kept myself fit," Antao concluded.
