The winter signings for the Goan club had a positive impact and as a result have been offered fresh deals for the coming season…
Tolgay Ozbey and Haroon Amiri have signed for Dempo SC in what will be their first full season with the club in 2014-15.
Having joined the club in January, the duo put in consistent performances which saw them reach the semi-final of the Federation Cup only to be knocked out by Sporting Clube de Goa on penalties.
They helped Dempo SC end the season on a high as they finished fourth as they won six of the nine matches played when the I-League resumed following the winter break.
“Dempo gave me the opportunity when things were not going so well and they helped me fix my season up very strongly. I have enjoyed every moment there and have enjoyed being coached by Arthur Papas,” Ozbey told Goal.
Meanwhile Dempo SC have re-signed Rowilson Rodrigues after having spent a season with Mohun Bagan.
Also senior players such as Samir Naik and Clifford Miranda are yet to sign on the dotted line after being asked to take a pay cut. Mahesh Gawli has been reportedly asked to prove his fitness once the pre-season resumes in order to earn a new contract.
It must be noted that although the club has slashed its budget, the younger brigade are being paid handsomely.
