After East Bengal secured the signature of Ranti Martins Soleye it was expected that Armando Colaco would take on the role of the manager after leading the side to 2nd position in this season's I-League.
However contract talks were drawn out and there was an impasse. Finally that stands broken as a press conference was organized to unveil the new East Bengal coach for 2014-15 season as Armando Colaco.
With talks rife that Colaco would take up the lucrative job of assistant manager in the newly unveiled ISL franchise, Atletico de Kolkata, East Bengal officials made it clear that the Goan would not be allowed to take up any other assignment during his tenure thus closing the gates in this respect.
Meanwhile the coaching staff for East Bengal in the new season would be the same.
Armando was not present in the conference himself.
