Officials at the club confirm negotiations are on-going and expect to have a definitive answer soon, deny reports of talking to other coaches…With East Bengal’s love for Armando Colaco to continue in their managerial hotseat pretty evident, the logjam over the contract negotiations, that continues to elongate with each passing day, has set the cat amongst the pigeons.
The matter was supposed to be put to rest this week with a final decision imminent, however, it is now sure to shift into the coming week as well.
In a new development, an official from the club has clarified that the management had received and email form the veteran coach and that the club were following due process in replying to the mail as early as possible.
While refusing to divulge the contents of the mailer, the official said, “We have adopted a wait-and-watch approach. We don’t think there’s any reason to hurry things. We have seen Armando’s email and will be sending him a reply,” to The Telegraph.
The club have also turned down inquiries on what the Red and Golds’ response to the mail would be. With the Kolkata giants shuffling their feet over the Colaco affair, it seems pretty evident they aren’t looking at alternatives for the position at the moment.
“We are dealing only with Armando at the moment… Why would we talk about other names? A decision on Armando can be expected early next week,” concluded the official.
