After a prolonged discussion, Dhanachandra Singh has agreed terms with Mohun Bagan, Goal can confirm.
The United Sports left-back had an impressive season with the Purple Brigade and was one of the hottest properties in the transfer marker. At least three of the top five clubs in the I-League were interested to get his prized signature.
"I am going to sign for Mohun Bagan. I am now at Imphal airport and will come back home again on Monday after sealing the deal. It's not yet decided whether it's an year-long deal or a two year contract. I will talk with the club about it," Dhanachandra told Goal.
When quizzed about his reasons of snubbing offers from clubs like East Bengal, the 24-year old defender stated, "Firstly as the offer made by Mohun Bagan was better. And above it, I just wanted to play under Subhash Bhowmick. I know him very well from my earlier days in football and have always wanted to play under him," he remarked.
The well-built defender from the north east also wished luck to his former side, United Sports Club.
"I hope that United will get a sponsor very soon, so that they can make a competitive team for the league this season," he signed off.
