Top and Flop: Mumbai FC 4-2 Churchill Brothers SC

Goal takes a look at who topped and who flopped as Mumbai FC registered a 4-2 victory against Churchill Brothers at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex ...
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

TOP: Yusif Yakubu

The veteran striker player rolled back the years as he put in a wonderful performance up front to score a hat trick. His great movement and positioning in the box caused the Churchill Brothers defense all sorts of problems throughout the game. His experience also showed as he was at the right place at the right time for all his 3 goals. He was, however, substituted late on as he appeared to have picked up an injury.

FLOP: Abdelhamid Shabana

The Egyptian midfielder had a game to forget as he cut a frustrated figure during his stay on the pitch. He lacked his usual composure as he misplaced majority of his passes. Failure to stamp his authority in midfield proved costly for his team as it allowed Mumbai FC to dictate the proceedings.
