Top and Flop: Mohammedan Sporting 1-3 East Bengal

East Bengal managed to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season and Goal looks at the top and flop of the match...
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

TOP: Abhishek Das

The youngster who played as right back impressed with a solid display for The Red and Gold. While he was pretty good defensively, it was his attacking runs that literally won the match for his side. It was his surging run and inch perfect cross that allowed Ryuji Sueoka to open the scoring. He also came to his side's rescue as he pulled off a fantastic goal-line save to deny Mohammedan a way back into the match.

FLOP: Syed Rahim Nabi

The India International had a bad day in office as he was taken to the cleaners by Abhishek Das. He didn't manage to track the full back's overlapping runs which led to them conceding the first goal. On top of that he was arguably guilty of allowing Joaquim Abranches to run past him when he expected the goalkeeper to come clear the ball giving him an empty net to double their lead.
