Top and Flop: Dempo SC 1-1 Mumbai FC

Here's a look at the best and the worst in a rather tight encounter at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao...
Welcome to Goal's new I-League feature: Top and Flop. For every game, a candidate will be put forward, as chosen by Goal, who deserves recognition for achieving something special. It won't necessarily be the best player in the league - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. In the same vein, we will also name a player whose performance wasn’t up to the mark on the given day and eventually came to hurt his side.

The centre-back was top class throughout and did not put a foot wrong in a magnificient display of top quality defending. He was assigned the task of marking Tolgay Ozbey, who had scored four goals in the previous match and was high on confidence going into this tie. He marked him to perfection as the Australian hardly registered a shot on target. There were moments in the game where Dempo where through on goal, but Jhingan's top tackles and interceptions made sure Dempo didn't score a goal from open play.

The youngster had a dissapointing night as he couldn't influence much in the attacking third. There were moments in the game where he had plenty of time and space just outside the box but his passing was poor. He was rightfully substituted in the second half after Arthur Papas saw minimal contribution from George.
