Tolgay Ozbey (8', 30', 45+2', 88') scored all the four goals for the winners while Abdelhamid Shabana's 57th minute strike was a mere consolation for Churchill.
Abdelhamid Shabana returned from suspension for the Red Machines. Denzil Franco and Daniell Zeleny were the other two changes in place of Jaison Vales and Ashley Fernandes.
There was only one change for Arthur Papas' side as Prabir Das replaced Haroon Amiri in Dempo's first eleven.
The match was off to a terrific start as Dempo took the lead in no time. Tolgay Ozbey took advantage of a miss-pass by Churchill defender Sanjay Balmuchu and blasted the ball past a hapless Lalit Thapa to score the opener in the eighth minute.
Subhash Bhowmick made an attacking change four minutes later by bringing on Jaison Vales in place of Balmuchu, but it didn't help matters much for the trailing team who conceded another goal at the half-hour mark, although Balwant Singh squandered an opportunity off a Thangjam Saran Singh free-kick in the 23rd minute.
Clifford Miranda took a short corner playing it to Alwyn George and the latter played a neat first time pass to Ozbey who hit it instantly giving Thapa no chance yet again in the 30th minute.
Churchill were running out of ideas as they failed to make inroads into the final third. Ozbey added a third in injury time when Romeo Fernandes found him in an unmarked position from the right flank and the Australian made no mistake as he nodded home to complete his hat-trick.
Dempo's Alwyn George dribbled past a couple of red shirts in the 51st minute, but only saw his shot come off rival defender Ravanan Dharmaraj.
On the other side, Shabana succesfully found the back of the net from around the edge of the box to pull one back for his side after getting past a few Dempo defenders in the 57th minute.
Ozbey continued to trouble Churchill as he combined well with substitute Beto before getting on the end of Sanju Pradhan's pass on the left to shrug off Zeleny and score his fourth of the evening in the 88th minute.
The win takes Dempo to fourth position tied on points (31) with Pune FC, although the latter have a match in hand as compared to the Golden Eagles, who have played 21 matches. Churchill Brothers meanwhile continue to fight relegation with 18 points from 19 matches with only Mohammedan Sporting (17) below them.
